Past who plays like December in dream
has the gall to ask January to wait for him,
with voice that is a footprint in snow-time.
There are no more footprints next to this line of them,
suggesting his loneliness doesn’t sit like a dome;
snow is scattered over a comet tail’s, Welcome Home.
The impact of the holiday season to the high holly
leaves a season beyond sky, and a feeling two snow angels
will still have four wings, but a world of body.
Though he doesn’t touch the ground, he wishes anyway,
upon lampposts that float like his abandonment,
upon footprint-pages, of January through December.
