Up to Issue 10, we offered our contributors publication in our print and digital editions. However, for Issue 11, we have decided to do more for our contributors.

The Hemlock Journal is committed to supporting, recognising, and compensating the writers and artists who make our publication possible

Contributor Payment and Publication

Print Edition Contributors

Contributors selected for the print edition will receive:

• $15 USD / ₹1,200 INR honorarium for all writers and poets featured in the issue
• $15 USD / ₹1,200 INR for the front cover art
• A complimentary digital copy of Issue 11 for all the contributors of the issue

Digital Edition Contributors

Contributors selected for the digital/eBook edition will receive:

• A full refund of the submission fee to all contributors
• Publication in the digital/eBook edition of Issue 11

Submission Fee

A submission fee of $3 USD / ₹250 INR per submission applies to all categories.

Some Important Changes in Submission Guidelines

Poetry :

• Maximum of 3 poems per poet are allowed
• Submission fee applies per poem

Fiction and Creative Nonfiction :

• Maximum of 2 piece per writer
• Submission fee applies per piece

Artwork/Photography :

• Maximum of 3 artworks/ photographs per artist
• submission fee applies per artist/photographs (not per artwork or photograph)
